Information We Collect
1) Information you provide
- Account information: email address and authentication identifiers when you sign in (Firebase Authentication).
- User content you create in the App: prayer tracking entries, dhikr counter data, daily amal checklist completion, reading tracker logs, sin tracker entries, custom reminders, and related notes/settings.
2) Location information (if you allow it)
- Precise or approximate location: used to calculate accurate prayer times and related features. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings, but some features may not work as intended.
3) Device/App information
- App analytics data (Android): the Android build includes Firebase Analytics, which may collect device and app usage information (such as app interactions, device identifiers, and approximate location derived from IP) as described by Google/Firebase.
- Local storage: the App stores data locally on your device (Hive database) to work offline.
How We Use Information
- Provide core app functionality (tracking prayers, dhikr, daily amal, reading, reminders).
- Enable cloud backup and multi-device sync (Firebase Firestore) when you are signed in.
- Calculate prayer times based on your location (if enabled).
- Send reminders/notifications you configure (if enabled).
- Understand app performance and improve the app (analytics, aggregated where possible).
- Security and fraud prevention (for example, protecting accounts).
Sharing and Disclosure
We may share information in the following situations:
- Service providers: We use Google Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics). These providers process data on our behalf to provide the App’s features.
- Legal: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfer: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data Retention
- Local data: stored on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Cloud data: if you use cloud sync, your data is stored in Firebase Firestore associated with your account until you delete it (if in-app deletion is available) or request deletion from us.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. Data transmitted to Firebase is protected using encryption in transit.
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your Choices and Controls
- Location permission: You can turn location access on/off in your device settings.
- Notifications: You can enable/disable notifications in your device settings.
- Cloud sync: Cloud sync works when you sign in. If you want your cloud data deleted, contact us at effttech@gmail.com.
- Access/Update: You may update some account/profile information within the App (if available).
Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not designed specifically for children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us at effttech@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.
International Transfers
Firebase services may process and store data on servers located outside your country.
By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred and processed internationally.
Third-Party Links
The App may open external links (for example, websites) using your device browser. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Effective date” at the top when we do.
